The common cold

Over 200 viruses may cause common colds. The probability to catch a cold is higher during the cold season, especially since we enter into contact with already seek persons. The adults usually suffer from colds twice a year, but the children are more exposed, having a weaker immunity system.

If you have noticed the first symptoms of a cold, you may prevent it from developing through the following remedies:

20 drops of Echinacea tincture dissolved in water every 2 hours

Vitamin C every 2 hours, maximum 2 g a day

Zinc 4 times a day – 25 mg


Garlic, ½ piece every 2 hours.

In order to calm the cold rest in an aerated and warm room, eat aliments rich in vitamin C, like vegetables soup, and drink plenty of liquids, preferably ginger tea sweetened with honey. A good calming agent is the infusion from one spoon of oregano or thyme drunk 3 times a day.

In order to eliminate congestion we recommend aromatherapy and feet baths. For the bath add 2 spoons of mustard flour in one liter of boiling water, creating an ideal cure against the congestion of the head and lungs.
