Stress releasing foods.

The stress is an important factor in our lives these days. It appears everywhere, at home, in our personal relations, at work and even in the kitchen through the unhealthy food that we eat.

The good news is that it can be fought. Correct alimentary choices may help the body increase it resistance to stress. While stressed, instead of eating unhealthy food, we may choose stress releasing food, for our personal comfort.

Stress releasing foods.

We will introduce you, in what follows, to some very beneficial stress releasing aliments:

1. Celery contains a series of compounds that decrease the stress hormones concentration. These hormones cause the blood vessels to constrict. The celery compounds cause the vessels to dilate and decrease arterial tension, acting against the stress hormones. It also contains a series of substances that relax the organism and the nervous system, hence a celery shank, eaten before going to sleep may help you sleep better.


2. The cabbage is a very important antioxidant vitamin source releasing stress, as well as a source of vitamins A, C and E which fight against the harmful effects of the free radicals released in the organism by the stress hormones.

3. The brown rice contains slow absorbing carbohydrates, triggering the release of serotonin and norepinephrine which helps face the stress, improving the disposition and energy level.

4. The red fruits, like blackberries, raspberries and even strawberries help relieve stress by increasing the magnesium and vitamin C levels in the organism. Their decrease weakens the immunity system and causes a general state of stress and exhaustion.

5. Sesame seeds are rich in zinc. The zinc improves the metabolism through fat acids and serotonin hence reducing the stress.
