DYSMENORRHEA

The menses accompanied by abdominal pains. The pains appear before the menses and disappear after the menses or the pain can appear after the menses. Slight pains to powerful ones, accompanied by vomiting and nausea, can sometimes appear. The causes are hormonal disturbances or inflammation of uterus and the appendices. The treatments have to be started a week before the menstrual period.

Treatments:

- squirrel tail flowers (achillea mellifolium); infusion from two teaspoons into a cup of boiling water, drink three cups per day.


- chamomile (chamomilla recutita); infusion from two teaspoons into a cup of boiling water, drink three cups per day before meals.

- raspberry leaves (folium rubi idaei); the leaves are picked before the fruit are ripe, take a teaspoon of dried leaves powder three times per day, keep it under the tongue, then swallow it with a bit of water. The powder is obtained by macerating dried leaves in the electric coffee-mill.

Infusion from a teaspoon of leaves into a cup of boiling water, drink three cups per day during a month, then take a break for a week.

- aniseed (pimpinella anisum); infusion from two teaspoons into half liter of boiling water, keep it for ten minutes, filter it and drink three tees per day, sweetened with polyflora honey, an hour before main meals,

- 30 grams of lion’s tooth roots (radix taraxaci), 20 grams squirrel tail flowers (flores millefolii), 20 grams balm leaves (folium melissae), 20 grams rootstock (rhizoma calami); infusion from a teasoon of mixture into a cup of boiling water, which has to be drank in the evening.
