Cornflower - (Centaurea cyanus)
Internal use:
Anti-diarrheic: infusion from one and ½ teaspoon of flowers for 300 milliliters of boiled water. After approximately 20 minutes, the liquid can be drunk in 2 stages, warm, sweetened, ½ an hour before the main meals.
Diuretic: tea from a mix of cornflower flowers, cranberry and birch leafs and cherry tails.
Biliary lithiasis: it is a deposit formed in the bladder due to cholesterol, pigments and biliar salts.
Cornflower flowers: infusion from one teaspoon of flowers for one cup of water; 2 – 3 cups a day – prevent the deposit of calculi and even helps to eliminate them.
External use:
Infusion used as cataplasms and eye baths, used in the treatment of wrinkled eyelids, and loose muscle tonic.
In case of external use the treatment possibilities are far more diversified, using eye baths, compresses, cataplasms with medicinal plants with anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, bacterial-static, emollient and calming properties: eye baths, eyelids compresses, with infusions or decocts of marigold, cornflower, chamomile, marshmallow, linden tree and yarrow flowers. The flower infusion is used for the treatment of tired eyes and wrinkled eyelids.
Tea:
Boil one and ½ teaspoon of flowers in one glass of water and leave them covered for 20 minutes. Then strain the liquid, and drink it sweetened.
Observations:
If any discomfort occurs during the application of each recipe containing cornflower, stop the treatment at once.
