A plant that works wonders

 

The therapeutic effects of Aloe are remarkable: strengthens the immunity system, contains antiseptic and analgesic agents, and influences all seven layers of the skin, it is a natural anti-inflammatory, contains vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and amino acids, and accelerates the healing by stimulating tissue regeneration. The use of the plant has no side effects. All of the plants parts can be used. The bark is used as a laxative, while the pulp is used for burns or other type of wounds. Lately, besides the curative effects, the plant has been used for a series of emollient cosmetic products. The best results are observed in elder persons, susceptible of bedsore, diabetic ulcers and vascular ulcers.

The fresh, condensed Aloe juice – meaning the drip we gather from squeezing the thick leaf of the plant - is used in therapy. The Aloe juice, in small doses improves the appetite and digestion, but a large dose becomes a powerful purgative. The fresh juice has a antibacterial action.

Externally it heals infected wounds, burns and ulcerations. Cut a fresh Aloe leaf and place it on the sour spot, in a few minutes the pain shall disappear. A small piece from a leaf calms toothache and heals gingival inflammations. In case of cold or conjunctivitis the aloe juice is used as drops.

Internally it is indicated incase of gastritis, enteritis, constipation – one teaspoon two – three times a day, ½ hour before meals. The duration of the treatment is between 4 and 6 weeks. Modern studies have shown that the Aloe juice is effective in the treatment of digestive system inflammations, highly recommended in case of gastritis, ulcer, constipations and diarrhea.
